This study examines the narrative techniques of presentation of the fantastic in Grendel\u2019s short story titled <em>Chasteful report from the middle of a dream<\/em> by using the theories of Tzvetan Todorov, Ana Mar\u00eda Barrenechea, \u013dubomir Dole\u017eel and Enriqueta Morillas Ventura, which are complementary, though confronting in some issues of the nature and narratibility of the fantastic.
