The inherent linguistic otherness, i.e. the coexistence of these literatures with other, surrounding languages dislocates both the traditional descriptive categories with which Hungarian literary history operates, and the viability of a literary canon based on the borders of the nation state. In this article I investigate how the Hungarian transborder literature and immigrant literature conceptualized as multilingual can reshape the monolingual Hungarian literary traditions. Analysing Istv\u00e1n Domonkos\u2019s poem \u201cRudderless\u201d (1971) and \u00c1d\u00e1m Bodor\u2019s novel \u201cSinistra Zone\u201d (1992) I examine how they transform the de- and reterritorialized Hungarian language into an accented, audible archival medium of multilingual cultural spaces.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
