The analysis of the novel is mainly based on the theory of intermediation by Werner Wolf, and begins with an examination of the phenomenon of mediatedness by media and the effects of popular culture. Then, through exploring some of the key motifs and narrato-poetic peculiarities of the novel, the study examines the role of interart phenomena and imitation.
