Cultural products rely on representations constructed in relation to Balaton, varying, shaping and consolidating them. It is in this context that we can examine the books of Zolt\u00e1n D. Zaj\u00e1cz\u2019s Bloody Balaton trilogy, which were marketed by the publisher as \u201eretro crime novels\u201d.
