Cultural products rely on representations constructed in relation to Balaton, varying, shaping and consolidating them. It is in this context that we can examine the books of Zolt\u00e1n D. Zaj\u00e1cz\u2019s Bloody Balaton trilogy, which were marketed by the publisher as \u201eretro crime novels\u201d. In what follows, we will firstly examine the geopolitical context in which the novels set the story, and then, after analysing these poetic specificities, we will look for answers regarding the tension that arises between the stories\u2019 locations and the (publisher\u2019s) paratexts.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
