The analysis shows the strategies Mitgutsch uses to perpetuate the uniquely female experience in interpreting motherdaughter relationships and to challenge the assumption that this subject can only be addressed in a female voice. It is in the paradoxical situation of this dual objective that Mitgutsch attempts to create a language of \u201aobjective\u2019 emotional expression.
