The main starting point is a feminist literary criticism point of view, which traces the resonance of the feminist principles of the time in the selected texts, and uses a close-reading technique to examine the presence of the mother and\/or the daughter and her voice in the text, as well as the dynamics and nature of their relationship. While Tillie Olsen\u2019s short story concentrates on the mother and more specifically textual silence, she presents the mother a victim, Amy Tan\u2019 narrative is dominated by the daughter\u2019s perspective, the reinterpreting and redefinition of the mother image, which is an important element in the development of personal identity.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
