This protagonist, however, steps out of the purely militaristic colour, and is more concerned with her inner-spiritual dilemmas and delusions about love than with the fortunate or unfortunate twists and turns of the war that ravages the outside world. The paradoxes of the protagonist\u2019s character, the worldview and narrative technique of the novel, and the aspects of the interspersed textual types demand productivity not only in terms of reception but also of interpretation.
