In the centre of research are the early poems written\u00a0by Koml\u00f3s himself, and his intellectual and artistic portrait of the emblematic\u00a0Jewish-Hungarian poet, J\u00f3zsef Kiss. Koml\u00f3s composes in the spirit of the\u00a0history of ideas (Geistesgeschichte), and as a starting point he uses the term of\u00a0the collective soul. His J\u00f3zsef Kiss-portraits were changing in accordance with\u00a0the actual political and social demands and requirements.
