The author tries to demonstrate the influence and afterlife of still popular American writer through the examples from English, Hungarian, Italian and Slovak literature. He focuses mainly to works written for children and youth. The target texts of typological examination are: 1. Original, and unabridged edition of Poe\u2019s poetry and short stories for children and youth. 2. Adaptations of Poe\u2019s works for children and youth (including illustrated editions, and comic books). 3.
