Absztrakt:

In her essay, titled Attila József’s Moment, Ágnes Nemes Nagy directs the attention of the reader to the poem that the author begins with the following thoughts: Freight trains are shunting “does not belong to those famous poems we know by heart […] still it seems to be one that we actually know by heart. This little poem is like an anthology from the works of Attila József and from the succeeding Hungarian poetry as well. It is full to the brim with his motives and poetic patterns as well as with everything we have learned from him”. It is obvious that this is not one of the most well-known poems of Attila József but it was written together with night in the outskirts and Winter night. Consequently, I intend to place this poem, which was created in context of other great pieces, in his oeuvre. Besides this, i also want to discuss its poetic strategy. The theoretical framework of my paper is supported by theories of the lyrical genre in the field of deconstruction and by the theory of allegory from the writings of Paul de Man.
