Abstract:

The paper presents the transcultural features of the short story writing of the Croatian writer Neven Ušumović (1972), analizing the short stories of his three short story collections. It takes into account the linguistic and cultural influences that play a role in producing the meanings of his works, and outlines the interpretative possibilities that arise from the different cultural contexts. The analysis also highlights the importance of intermediality, which interacts with the transcultural narration.
