Abstract:

The paper analyzes the genre of urban fantasy, its tradition, cliches and presence in contemporary Hungarian literature. The first part introduces some well-known urban fantasy novels from Neil Gaiman, China Mieville, Laszlo Zoltán etc. The second part analyzes these books and introduces the two genres of urban fantasy: the world-building and the intrusive urban fantasy. The third part deals with the literary effect of NeilGaiman´s Neverwhere on Laszlo Zoltán´s Egyszervolt.
