Abstract:

This study analyses the literary representations of the territories attached to Poland at the end of World War II. The thematic current unfolding from the late 1980s has depicted forced migrations, the unfamiliarity of new places, the adaptation process of immigrants to their new homes and the discovery of the past in the former German territories, in the framework of biography, personal and collective memory, space and identity. Beyond the Polish-German relationship, this experience can be interpreted as a shared Central European feature.
